Specialist for jack-up and heavy lift sytems (m/f)

You will complete the team which is responsible for management of the vessel for the erection of offshore windturbines.
In the beginning your main tasks will be to further optimize design of the vessel in cooperation with the R&D-department, which means: to plan and design a heavy-lift jack-up vessel.
You will also manage the building process in cooperation with the shipyard, guide quality and work progress during construction of the vessel, manage commissioning of the jacking systems onsite on the shipyard and then accompany the start-up of operation of the vessel:

• you will train the staff of the vessel
• you will accompany the staff on their first sailings
• organize and guide health and safety on board

When the vessel is in operation you will take responsibility in managing maintenance and repair of the vessel: you will:

• set up contract management for maintenance of the vessel
• direct suppliers in delivery of spare parts at required times and specifications
• guard and order spare parts
• manage regular technical inspections of the vesses to always maintain technical and economical availability of the vessel and especially the jacking systems

Requirements

• university degree in maritime engineering or mechanical engineering
• ideally experience as jack-up engineer in offshore wind energy in the North-Sea
• minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in offshore oil and gas or shipping industry
• experience with floating heavy-lifting equipment
• former experience in the planning and design of jack-up systems would be ideal
• working experience with drive systems for jacking systems
• knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, preferably pinion jacking systems
• good MS-Office knowledge
• fluent in German or at least willing to become fluent in German on short notice
• self-starting
• wiling and able to occasionally train staff in seminars
• diplomatic
• willing and able to work in environments where structures yet have to be implemented
